Skin Texture, Tone & Scars

MICROPEN

Micropen® is a treatment used to treat both surgical and traumatic scars on the face and body as well as improving texture, fine lines, deep wrinkles, and enlarged pores.* Each Micropen treatment includes the infusion of pharmaceutical grade serums such as hyaluronic acid, growth factor, antioxidants and other nutrient-rich ingredients into deeper levels of the skin for lasting hydration, collagen stimulation and tissue repair and regeneration. Micropen is a safe and effective alternative to neuromodulators (such as Botox) and fillers for treating fine lines and wrinkles in delicate tissue such as the upper lip and under eye area.*

Broad Band Light (BBL)

Sciton® Broad Band Light™ laser is the next generation of Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) lasers and is the most advanced treatment option available for improving sun damage, pigmentation, acne, rosacea, redness and broken capillaries in the skin.* BBL is a safe and effective way to improve the tone and texture of not only the face but also neck, chest, arms, hands, back and other areas that have uneven texture or damage. Best results usually require a series of 3-4 treatments and result in dramatic improvement in tone and complexion resulting in glowing, radiant skin that looks years younger.*  Learn more…

Forever Young BBL

Forever Young BBL™ is an ongoing series of BBL treatments designed to maintain a radiant, even complexion after the corrective series of BBL is completed. A decade-long study conducted at Stanford University has found that regular BBL treatments can reverse DNA damage in deeper layers of skin, slowing the signs of aging and resulting in long-term, younger, fresher looking skin without any downtime.*  Learn more…

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP)® Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy aka “the vampire facial”, is used for texture, fine lines, deep wrinkles, and scars. Platelets play a role in stopping bleeding and in repairing damaged blood vessels and cells in the body. Platelets also contain substances called “growth factors” that activate and rejuvenate cells in our body. PRP treatment involves a simple blood draw which is then spun down using a centrifuge that separates the plasma and platelet portion. The PRP is then injected or infused back into the skin to stimulate collagen and regenerate new tissue growth. PRP can be used with micropen or injected into the face like a filler. Using PRP to treat the under eye area aka “tear troughs” is a very safe and effective way to correct fine lines, dark circles, hollowing, and dryness.*

Halo / Fractional Laser

Halo by Sciton®is the first and only hybrid fractional laser in the world. The Halo hybrid fractional laser uses a combination of wavelength energy at exactly the right depth to repair the visible signs of aging, sun damage, discoloration, enlarged pores, scars, and uneven skin tone without the downtime and unwanted side effects of traditional fractional lasers.* This laser is safe for most skin types and the result is a luminous, rejuvenated appearance, the “Halo glow”.* We are one of very few practices in Northern California to offer this exclusive technology. Most patients notice a dramatic difference in tone, texture, and tightness with just one treatment, but may require additional treatments to achieve full correction.* Learn more…

Photodynamic Therapy/Levulan

Photodynamic therapy Photodynamic therapy uses a topical medication like Levulan® that is applied to the skin and activated with a BBL™ treatment. PDT is used to treat pre-cancerous skin cells such as actinic keratosis, significantly improve sun damage and deep pigmentation, control severe acne (that is often resistant to traditional acne treatment), and creates healthy, luminous skin.*

Chemical Peels

Chemical peels can dramatically improve the tone and texture of the skin.* We offer a variety of pharmaceutical grade, compounded peels that are designed exclusively for our practice. After careful evaluation of a patients skin tone, texture, and specific concern, a solution is applied directly onto the outermost layer of the skin to initiate the exfoliation of old, dead, dry skin cells and promote skin cell renewal for a younger and smoother complexion.* We can design our peels to be very mild, moderate or more corrective depending on a patient’s lifestyle and preference.
