What is Clear and Brilliant Laser?

Clear and Brilliant is a mild fractional laser resurfacing procedure that treats minor skin imperfections. Therefore it targets fine lines, enlarged pores, skin tone and texture irregularities. Sometimes referred to as “baby Fraxel”, Clear and Brilliant is popular with younger patients. This group generally has good skin and doesn’t need a high level of correction. Downtime is relatively short with the Clear and Brilliant because this fractional laser doesn’t go very deep.

Clear and Brilliant comes from a family of lasers that targets water in the skin instead of pigment. A handpiece slowly hovers over the target area, deploying the fractional laser at a specific depth and temperature. The procedure is designed to stimulate collagen production and rejuvenate skin. Between 5-6 sessions are recommended according to the Clear and Brilliant website. Each procedure lasts about 20-30 minutes with a topical numbing cream administered prior to treatment for a more comfortable experience.

Clear and Brilliant Laser Drawbacks and Limitations

The Clear and Brilliant is not the best option for patients who want to address more serious skin aging such as deep wrinkles, sagging or advanced pigmentation issues. While the Clear and Brilliant promises improvements in texture and skin tone, results are extremely subtle. Multiple visits to the clinic are needed to see appreciable results. Considered safe for all skin types, darker complexions must to be treated with extreme caution, ideally by an experienced clinician.

Halo Laser Delivers Clear + Brilliant Results – Plus More – with Minimal Downtime

Most patients over 35 usually have some pigmentation issues, fine lines and acne scars. They’re also starting to notice more advanced signs of aging such as volume loss and mild skin laxity. The Clear and Brilliant doesn’t have enough oomph with its 1927 nm wavelength to deliver the wow factor. Yet the idea of 2-3 day recovery is extremely appealing. The solution is the new Halo Fractional Laser by Sciton®.

Halo laser technology is the first and only hybrid fractional device that delivers both ablative and non-ablative resurfacing simultaneously. It uses two separate lasers for outstanding anti-aging and rejuvenation results. Halo laser has similar features as the Clear and Brilliant only it does more. Halo’s non-ablative 1470nm wavelength goes very deep to boost collagen, minimize sun damage, lines, wrinkles, acne scars, pigment issues and texture irregularities. The second laser uses an ablative 2940 nm wavelength to remove vaporized tissue from the skin’s surface in order to speed up healing.

If you simply can’t afford several days of downtime, then Microneedling combined with PRP (platelet rich plasma) is a great option to address you texture concerns. Microneedling with PRP makes an effective treatment for reducing fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars, pigmentation and brightening dull, lackluster skin. Quick and very comfortable, this procedure will leave your skin glowing and have you looking your best within 24-48 hours. Although we recommend several sessions to achieve the same results as with one Halo, Microneedling with PRP will have you back at the office or ready for a special occasion in no time.
