Chemical Peels

Chemical peels can dramatically improve the tone and texture of the skin. We offer a variety of pharmaceutical grade, compounded peels that are designed exclusively for our practice. After careful evaluation of a patient’s skin tone, texture, and specific concern, a solution is applied directly onto the outermost layer of the skin to initiate the exfoliation of old, dead, dry skin cells and promote skin cell renewal for a younger and smoother complexion.* We can design our peels to be very mild, moderate or more corrective depending on a patient’s lifestyle and preference.

Types of Chemical Peel

Glycolic Acid Peel

To get rid of skin blemishes, the glycolic acid peel is considered one of the most gentle acting peels. This is attributed to the fact that glycolic acid contains alpha hydroxy acid, a naturally occurring substance found in fruits and sugarcane. Due to its mild nature, a glycolic acid peel treatment helps eliminate the most obvious signs of aging as well as improve skin complexion. Days later after treatment, the patient’s skin will gradually peel, giving way to clearer, healthier-looking skin.*

VI Peel

The combination of fine and specially selected ingredients in a VI peel makes it the perfect choice for individuals wanting healthier-looking and even-toned skin. The trichloroacetic acid ingredient stimulates collagen production and promotes deep tissue renewal. For this reason, VI peels are extremely effective as a scar-healing treatment. The Vitamin-A derivative Retin-A content reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles while ascorbic acid helps with deep exfoliation because of its natural antioxidant properties. Acting as an anesthetic and antiseptic at the same time, phenol helps all the other ingredients in penetrating deep into the skin layers.

Salicylic Acid Peel

Salicylic acid peels have always been the chemical peel of choice for individuals who want to reduce the appearance of superficial blemishes and spots. Apart from gently peeling off the imperfections, salicylic acid also promotes fairer, youthful skin by refining clogged pores and reducing excess oil production.* As a beta hydroxy acid type of peel, salicylic acid peels are mild enough to be used in patients with sensitive skin. It’s also a great alternative to the equally effective glycolic acid peel.

Jessner Peel with Retin-A Peel

As a specially-formulated chemical peel, the Jessner Peel with Retin-A Peel works by encouraging gentle exfoliation of the skin’s outermost layers. For patients with extremely dry and severely damaged skin, the Jessner Peel with Retin-A Peel is an excellent choice because it has been frequently recognized as the most effective and safest way to reveal younger-looking skin for this skin type.* Each application of Jessner Peel with Retin-A Peel works its wonders gradually as it penetrates the skin’s deep layers, and owes its revitalizing effects from the powerful combination of Retin-A solution followed by the Jessner peeling treatment.
